    PROGMANIA

By Alain Fargas - October 2023 / RHINO JAZZS FESTIVAL

"I knew TOTO ST before going to see this Angolan musician live who wonderfully combines and fuses afro-jazz / funk / soul / rnb & African rhythms... His writing skills, shaping the music and much more, of course his excellent vocal abilities were therefore not unknown to me. However, I admit I have been amazed by his capacity for interpretation which is truly extraordinary!... In addition to being an excellent guitarist, he has a voice whose capabilities are astonishing, if not almost infinite. He undoubtedly benefits from one of the most beautiful techniques I have had the opportunity to listen to on stage. His rather typical “world music/jazz/African influences” concert was a model of the genre. He is a remarkable and very endearing artist!... (Concert on 04/10/23 - RhinoJazz Festival).”

Totó ST takes the audience on a journey through its musical repertoire in an intimate concert

Totó St, without a doubt, needs no introduction when it comes to singing live. The musician did it once again during an intimate concert called "Sung Stories", held this Saturday, January 28, at the Iron Palace, in Luanda.

In a production of NAKENIS.08 and 17A7, the musician took the audience on a journey through his vast musical repertoire, from the album "A Vida das Coisas" to "Ava-Tar"

12/16/2022 Jornal de Angola, Totó ST presents his two new albums

Avatar and Flavours of Time are two albums by Totó ST released in October this year at Palácio de Ferro. “Avatar” was created and inspired during the pandemic period and has its own characteristics and messages.

In terms of musicality, it assumes a true fusion between the rhythms of Southern Africa and Afro-soul that characterize the artist Toto St. The first track of "Avatar" returns to the spiritual roots with Indian chants and bantu tribal chants. Read more...

    AVA-TAR in the 12th BEST ALBUMS 2022

"An irresistible Afro-soul fusion that once again sparkles Toto's prodigious talent for shaping seductive compositions where his silky voice, the finesse of his guitar playing and his innate sense of groove shine naturally, in a completely as his look. How good that feels !"

    23/10/2022 - Jornal de Angola -

The success of the launch concert of AVA-TAR and FLAVORS OF TIME

The two record projects complete the discography that includes the albums “Nga Sakidila”, “Filho da Luz”, “Batata Quente” and “Vida das Graças”. A curiosity is the cover of the albums, different from the previous ones where Totó ST always appears with the viola. The artist says that he has no justification for this, as as they built the work there was no concern to do a photo session and select the most suitable ones for the covers. Read More...

    Rolling Stone

    By Jessica Saval

"... when Toto St arrives on stage, it is a full room that applauds him. If he is a star in Angola, the musician is starting to be known in France ... and the least we can say is that it is unbelievable that it took so much time! Grooving with his guitar to the rhythm of afro soul ballads of incredible richness, he enchants the public and illuminates the Café de la Danse." Jessica SAVAL

When the adventure is totomatic… (Jazz Rhône-Alpes)

By Michel Clavel (pictures ©Richard Haro)

We had the great pleasure to meet again Serpiao Tomas - alias Toto St -  the prodigy Angolan singer and guitarist surrounded by his solid staff from Lyon who, during their first scene together, had delighted us last October at the Rhino. The unique opportunity to dive back into his very catchy groovy afro-blues repertoire (remember that we placed his latest album "Nga Sadikila" among the best world releases of 2019)..."

FIGURE Acte IV Toto ST - more than a musician, a soul healer...

By Anne GERBET (text - pictures ©Christophe CASTILLO)

Anne : You are considered in Angola as a child prodigy because you started music seriously at the age of 8 by working several hours a day. What do you think?
Toto ST: I don’t know if I’m a prodigy but yes I started when I was 8. I don’t think life starts at a certain point but well before our body.
There is a consciousness before, there is memory before and I have brought back these memories, my musical memories in this existence.
    ..."
